2018 Award Winner
Rock Island track athlete e’Dereka Newsone earned the Donald Wright Memorial Scholarship during the girls track team banquet on Thursday May 31st, 2018. The scholarship was created in honor of Donald Wright, a 1968 Rock Island graduate who served in the Vietnam War before succumbing to cancer from Agent Orange exposure. The $5,000 scholarship is given annually βto a Rock Island senior track athlete.

2018 Golf Outing Fundraiser…
The Don Wright Memorial Scholarship, celebrating the life of the late Donald R. Wright, a native of Rock Island and a 1968 graduate of Rock Island Senior High School, is presented yearly to a qualifying track & field athlete who is graduating from Rock Island Senior High School.
Please join us at 1 P.M. on July 22nd, 2018, for the 3rd Annual Don Wright Memorial Scholarship Golf Outing at beautiful Highland Springs Golf Course in Rock Island, IL.
Your 4-some entry of $260 will include the following: 2 flight, 4-person scramble to include carts, range balls, contests (long drive, closest to the pin) and catered dinner with beverages at Awards Reception following the golf. You can also purchase “mulligans”, a forward tee “pink ball”, tickets for 2 raffles, as well as enter the “ball in the circle” on a selected par 3 hole.
In addition: Included with your online registration is a 1-year subscription to Golf Digest (a $10 value).
