2014 Recipient

Rock Island senior distance runner Kirsten Tauke earned the Don Wright Scholarship during the team banquet on Wednesday. The scholarship was named and created in honor of Don Wright, a 1968 Rock Island graduate who served in the Vietnam War before succumbing to cancer from Agent Orange exposure. The $5,000 scholarship is given to a senior track athlete.

2013 Recipient

Dominique McQueen was awarded the $5000 scholarship. She will be attending Northern Iowa University.

2012 Awards Night at RIHS

From the Rock Island/Milan School District #41 website, “Senior Night was held at Rock Island High School on Tuesday, May 22 in the Rock Island High School Auditorium. Several Rock Island High School seniors took their turn on stage receiving scholarships and academic recognitions from their accomplishments during the year and throughout their high school career. The Don Wright Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Trineisha Gray.”

2012 Recipient

Trineisha Gray was awarded a $5000 scholarship. She will be attending St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa.
